Write to your congressman and tell them to take real action in the fight against global warming by creating laws that will make a difference. Damsels United proposes creating a federal law that will eliminate the production of plastics nationwide, and, working with foreign nations to reduce or eliminate the foreign plastics we purchase. The law would mandate the use of environmentally friendly packaging in all consumer goods, everything from food, to cosmetics, auto supplies, medicine and everything in between.

  Those giant plastic bottles are everywhere we look, in every store, on every shelf, in every cabinet, in every home and place of business on this entire planet. Take one look at the countless super sized plastic bottles lining your kitchen, bathroom and bedroom shelves, everything from shampoo, to lotion, cleaning supplies, even our food containers. Most of those bottles end up as pollution in the air we breathe, and in our soil and natural water systems.

  Although many of those plastic bottles are recyclable, only 29% of recyclable bottles actually make it to the recycling centers, and only 5% to 8% of all recyclable plastics are ever recycled. Globally speaking, only 5% to 9% of all recyclable plastics find themselves in recycling centers, while an astounding 76% of plastics end up in landfills!

 If anyone has the superpower to take real action in the fight against global warming and environmental pollution, it is the American federal legislative departments. What we need is a worldwide ban on the production of plastics, everything from shampoo, soap, etc. bottles, to ordinary single use plastics such as forks, straws. America has the ability to exercise great influence on other countries.
